Strikes by truckers, stevedores and customs officials in Brazil have resulted in a backlog of commodities to ship. That’s led to delays in shipping soybeans, which normally peak in April and have increased by 10% on a year earlier in the three months to May 31, just ahead of the start of shipping of corn (which peaks in August).
