Hutchison Ports is in the process of extending its port facilities in Ensenada, Mexico. The port so far has been import focused with inbound shipments accounting for 65.1% of volumes handled through the port in 2018. While imports grew 19.6% year over year in 2018 exports fell 2.9%. The latter may reverse in the short-term as the result of a new Asia-outbound service being offered by CMA-CGM.
