Trump’s Tariff Mettle To Be Tested By Brazil, Argentina Steel Action

President Trump has announced plans to apply tariffs of 25% to steel exports and 10% to aluminum exports from Brazil and Argentina. The President is using the section 232 “national security” process in response to “a massive devaluation of their currencies” and its impact on U.S. farmers. The move is unlikely to be sustainable from a legal perspective.
