The port of Dalian, China, has stopped accepting refrigerated container freight deliveries due to a lack of shore power plugs that has resulted in a surge in demand and ongoing imbalances in the global container shipping industry. Hapag-Lloyd has indicated shipments will need to be diverted to Qingdao or Tianjin, or possibly further afield. The potential for disruption in global food supply chains may be limited.
