President Joe Biden’s 100 day of critical supply chains, which is scheduled to report by June 3, includes a review of sourcing of key minerals including cobalt, lithium, rare earths and others. U.S. imports of a wide range of critical minerals identified by the USGS fell by 31.2% year over year in the 12 months to January 31, including a 46.8% slide in cobalt and a 35.4% drop in shipments of lithium.
